Negative Presensitized Offset Plate
The N-2000 is a highly sensitive and fast Negative Offset Plate,
developed by IBF to provide quality and reliability on web and
sheet-fed offset printing with consistent high performance during
long runs.
PRODUCT FEATURES:
- Long runs -
Subtractive coating on aluminium base - Electrochemically
micro-grained - Anodized - Good visible image after
exposure - Resolution: 2% - 98%; 250 lines/inch - Sensitivity
spectrum: UV 300 to 400nm - Can be processed by manual, automatic
or immersion developing process - Exposure energy: 0.125
watts sec/cm2 - High holding dot for the entire run - Very
high resolution - High abrasion resistance avoiding scratching
and fingerprints - Press runs of 200,000 or
more
PRODUCT APPLICATIONS:
Long-run
offset printing on web and sheet-fed
presses.
EXPOSURE GUIDE: Use a high
intensity UV light source. The exposure time will vary according to
the distance and wattage of the light bulb. Using an IBF 21 Plate
Scale, expose lhe plate to a solid step 3. Using a 2,000 watt
light bulb at 31''/80cm from the plate, expose for 40 seconds.
Insufficient exposure can create lack of
details.
PROCESSING:
MANUAL
PROCESSING:
Pour and spread IBF Negative Developer
with a sponge over the plate and let the developer dwell there for
10 seconds. Remove the coating, pressing the sponge in a circular
motion. Do not prolong the development unnecessarily. When the
nonimage area is free of coating, it will be sufficient to pass the
sponge once again with the developer to ensure that the plate is
totally developed.
AUTOMATIC
PROCESSING:
IBF Negative Plates can be easily
processed using a continuous dry-to-dry option on the various
automatic processor models available. |

TRAY DEVELOPMENT:
IBF Negative Plates can
be tray or tank developed by leaving them immersed in the developer
at 70º'F/21ºC for 30 seconds. Wash thoroughly under running
water.
DELETIONS:
Apply IBF Image Remover on the
dry plate removing the unnecessary image, flush the plate with
water, squeegee off excess
water.
FINISHING:
Using IBF
Subtractive Finisher, pour very little on the plate and spread using
a damp sponge. If lhe plate is to be used immediately, it will not
be necessary to apply the Finisher.
FOUNTAIN SOLUTION:
We suggest the
dampening system to be maintained between 4.5 and 5.5 pH for
sheet-fed printing and 8.3 pH for web printing, using IBF Fountain
Solution. The conductivity should be between 1200 - 1500 micro
ohms.
